A Few Do's For Rufflecon

I have a fairly difficult time with my real hair and since Rufflecon is only T~minus 34 days away, I've been feeling a creeping panic setting in.

I don't really have as many Loli~able wigs as I'd like and I'm beginning to run out of time to purchase any but I've been creeping the comms and diving through a ton of pics, both recent GLBs and vintage hairstyle photos, and cataloging and trying them out with my real hair.

Now, my hair is by no means long and I may decide very suddenly to style some bangs at some point but regardless these are some of the more favorable styles that would work for both.

I feel like I've gotten better at doing this style of hair. I've been working at it wearing it to work but haven't sported it out to a meet up just yet.

The style on the left is more how it turns out if I curl it well. Braids are simple and I have a coord planned that would work well with it.

And this last one I've done with my real hair and like how it turns out too.

Well, that's what I've got for now, here's to more planning!

Haul Post: Antaina Shoe Haul

Shoes!

I am excited to write to you about a semi-recent shoe purchase I made with Antaina.

Having never bought, owned, tried on tea parties or shopped on Taobao, things ran super smooth for me in almost all areas. (Minor miscommunication issue about two shoes that were the same exact style but two different sizes but I'll fill you in.) The shoes came in, all gorgeous and super comfortable to wear, and I've already picked out new ones for my next order.

Here is a sort of mock up guide for ordering:

I did mine as a group order that had started as a one person order, and due to one slight miscommunication slip there was a confusion with one shoe, so as they say, communication is key. Be sure to organize with friends first and not even bother to email until you are certain what shoe styles, colors, and sizes are needed.

I also listed everything in size groupings, if you have more than one size going into the order it may be best to have breaks between each set size, it doesn't matter to them who's are who's, they are dependent on all the other information.

So order by size and in centimeters, they will send a image of exactly what parts of your foot to measure.

Very easy to follow.

And to make things run smoother I listed the link of the shoe I wanted, then style if the particular shoe had a variation, color, then size. Truthfully this should make everything run super simple but like I said there were some issues.

I put the group order in running each girl's order in their own little sections. What I should have done was order sections by size and, if I wanted to be super careful not to confuse sizes with styles, within braketed sections. I put the same shoe style next to each other with two very very different foot sizes.

As for communication, they are fabulous, helping me with all my shipping and pricing questions. This was especially good since I was adding a few extra shoes. There were a few points wphere communication was a little difficult, but most of the hassle was from having different time zones, almost every email was answered a day or two after.

An~Tai~Na did try to clarify but I thought they were referring to the color of one shoe being pink and the other ivory. I was mixed up by grammar and bold font highlighting words that weren't as important as what they were trying to ask.

The only other thing I could say was not what I hoped was the communication for the dispatch of the shoes. Both times I received my tracking info a day after it arrived, but honestly it was nice to receive the items that I wasn't bothered much by it other than having to work with my terrible post office...

Regardless of that little hiccup we were able to work together quickly and smooth things out and get back on track after. I got all the shoes after the discussed timeframe and they were all lovely! (with the proper shoe being made and shipped later.)

So if I were to rate this this is how I'd go:

Communication: 4/5
Extremely professional, but with some communication issues due to minor grammar issues and time zone.

Dispatch Time: 4/5.
Probably my only real complaint was that they took longer than they said they would to ship out and didn't give me the tracking until after I got it.

Shipping: 5/5.
They did everything exactly as they said they would shipping and made suggestions as to what would work best.

Product: 6/5!
It exceeded expectation and the shoes were better than the pictures and the materials used were soft and comfortable after a day of decent walking.

I would absolutely buy from An~Tai~Na again without a doubt.

This is Madeline Hatter and I'll write more soon!

Coord needs and wants

I've been bustling around my closet as of late trying to figure out what exactly I want to add to my wardrobe or what I absolutely need to round things out. This con gives me the perfect excuse and I'm already starting lists and I feel I do need quite a few things.

Okidoki, here is a short list of needs and wants:

★Shoes that will match up with a few coordinates, spat boots are one of them★
★Hair pieces: bonnets, head bows, floral and star barrets★
★Blouses: bell sleeves, Peter Pan collared, and pinks and creams★
★New stockings and socks★
★A sweetheart style wig from GLW★

I feel if I write out my needs I can separate them better into smaller groupings and decide what's a necessity and what is just a new piece I want. I'm certain by August Alice and Baby are going to release some new and amazing Halloween themed print that I'm going to go all goggly-eyed over that I'm going to want to buy all of so  I'm also trying to bide my time and spend carefully. In truth though, I'm not certain if that will change my coord line up for the con.

Some of the items I have plans to make, I need to build two bonnets and the star hair clips are going to be made as well which will be easy enough, I just need to get to the fabric and craft store. There are also a few dresses I have in the works that I basically need zippers and a few more things here and there to complete them before I can make blouses to go. I'm just hoping I get them done soon.

What are some things your looking to purchase in the near future? For specific coords or just want?

Well, I think that is enough of me rambling on, I'll write more soon and be a little more specific with my coords and maybe throw in a tutorial in as well.

Ciao frillies!

Lolitina Group

This is Madeline Hatter again, with another post for you!

For the con, I really wanted to get a little group together to do the popular single from Misako Aoki, Maepatsu Himeka. I'm super excited to do this, I've got a small group together and set up videos of the choreography in segments and planned schedules to learn and work it all out.

The group is excited so it simply makes me happy that they are just as much as I am. So far it's been a lot of fun.

I know it's not till October for the con, but we're really getting into the idea and I've got a little extra planning for it that I'm hoping to get into a Rufflecon panel, I'm just working out idea kinks before I go through with submitting.

I'll post little updates about this little group what we learn for the show and from each other.

Day One Of OMG Rufflecon Planning

Hey there!

This is Madeline Hatter signing in for my first blog post for Frill Seekers!

This is to kind of document the journey a few of the Rhode Island Lolita's will take along the way to Rufflecon and in our lolita lives. I hope you'll enjoy what we all have to share.

I'm really excited for this conference and I want to go all the way with planning for it and will be looking at new things to experiment in my wardrobe, make up, and hair styles, and hopefully grow as a lolita.

I'm also super happy that my friends are all collaborating together to have a group blog about our trip and our planning. Yay!

I have about 4 different coords planned so far and I kind of want to keep them top secret for now but I can say that going for at least one fully handmade coordinate and then a the rest may more or less be a of handmade and brand.

I also say that because through the year new releases will come out and usually it's the Halloween theme prints that usually call my wallet out for a show down.

I'm revving my sewing machines up, and getting more and more excited for RUFFLECON!

So, sit back, pour yourself a cup of tea, and enjoy Frill Seekers!

My Cords for Rufflecon

So I was thinking about what I should wear for Rufflecon, and a few thoughts came to mind and I think the most I know I would like to do is.

Melody Toys : From Angelic Pretty

Not sure what  collorway to get yet. But im Hoping its either Sax or Mint. Im not sure how I feel about the Red or pink and I dont like the black to much.

Then

DONUTS! Yup thats right! I will own this dress and wear the F*** out of it. Come to think of it we should triplet it. * points at Lorie and Chiibiusa*
